Roman Road is pleased to present +491522414NAME, the first solo exhibition by Berlin-based artist Dennis Buck with the gallery. On plastic, canvas and other man-made supports, Buck creates vibrant compositions filled with characters, often revealing his name, initials, the title or year of the work. Written using silicone, these protruding letters and numbers are a recurring motif in his art.
Alongside a selection of his new canvases created during his recent artist residency in Joshua Tree, the show features a site-specific installation made out of his signature multicoloured and multilayered soft PVC foil sheets. In +491522414NAME, Buck turns the gallery space into one of his works, asking questions about the significance and role of the signature in the art world and in our day-to-day lives.
